Matter of Reconsideration of Resolution Supporting Measure M, San Leandro Sports <br /> Facilities School Bond. (Taken after Item 2, Presentations /Recognitions, with <br /> concurrence of the City Council.) <br /> • Resolution Supporting Measure M, San Leandro Sports Facilities School Bond <br /> (supports Measure M on the November 2010 ballot to fund renovations and <br /> improvements to sports facilities at San Leandro schools and at Burrell Field). <br /> C. Report on Closed Session Actions Taken <br /> No reportable action taken. <br /> 11. CITY COUNCIL REPORTS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS <br /> City Councilmembers report on their activities, including attendance at Intergovernmental <br /> Agency meetings, conferences and seminars, and local events, and make brief announcements <br /> on issues of concern. <br /> Vice Mayor Reed commented on the federal COPS grant awarded to the City. She indicated <br /> that she would like the City to be more proactive in pursuing grants, and suggested hiring a <br /> grant writer that could be funded by grant proceeds. <br /> Councilmember Starosciak thanked the Rules and Communications Committee for reviewing <br /> the Guidelines Regarding Council Support for Ballot Measures. She noted the importance for <br /> the Council to have the ability to support measures that benefit San Leandro residents. <br /> Councilmember Prola reported that he attended the dedication of the Ninth Grade Campus; <br /> the Mulford Gardens Improvement Association meeting on the status of the marina; the <br /> Leadership San Leandro orientation; the Candidates Night at the Marina Community Center; <br /> and the Sausage and Suds Festival. <br /> Councilmember Stephens commented on the Leadership San Leandro program, and the great <br /> work by Coordinator Carole Rinaldi to make it so successful. <br /> Councilmember Souza pointed to Leadership San Leandro and the Citizens Police Academy <br /> as two great programs for networking and cultivating relationships. She reported that she <br /> recently attended the Sausage and Suds Festival, and a Ranked- Choice Voting presentation at <br /> All Saints Neighborhood Center. Councilmember Souza requested further clarification about <br /> how the amended Guidelines Regarding Council Support for Ballot Measures would change <br /> the manner in which measures were brought forward for consideration. She remarked that <br /> she had a wonderful time at the KaBOOM! Build Day, and there is still some follow up work <br /> to be done at Toyon Park. <br /> Councilmember Gregory reported that he is planning a future presentation at Bancroft Middle <br /> School on the subjects of resiliency and community leadership. He attended the Chinese <br /> Christian School annual dinner and the Sausage and Suds Festival. He gave kudos to the <br />
