Tennis Court Use Regulation 2 N ovember 15, 2010 <br />recommended that the regulation be reviewed by the Recreation and Parks Commission prior to <br />City Council consideration. <br />Should the City Council approve the regulation, signs would be posted. Police would respond to <br />a problem or a complaint when called and request that the offenders comply with the regulation. <br />Should there be reticence to comply or repeating of the offense, the officers would be able to cite <br />the offenders. The citation fine is $100. <br />Board /Commission Findings <br />October 6, 2010 — Recreation and Parks Commission discussed the issue and suggested <br />wording for the regulation. <br />November 3, 2010 — Recreation and Parks Commission reviewed the proposed regulation <br />and requested it be forwarded to City Council for review and approval. <br />Summary of Public Outreach Efforts <br />Members of the public who use tennis courts have been contacting the City with their <br />complaints. <br />Fiscal Impact <br />Not applicable. <br />Budget Authority <br />Not applicable. <br />Attachments <br />None. <br />CONCLUSION <br />Due to the increased number of complaints regarding the use of tennis courts for soccer as well <br />as the concern for the cost of surfacing and maintaining tennis courts, staff and the Recreation <br />and Parks Commission recommend that the City Council approve the proposed resolution to: 1) <br />add a regulation to the existing rules and regulations for the use of public parks and recreational <br />facilities in §7.1.205 of the San Leandro Administrative Code, and 2) approve the language for <br />noticing the regulation at the City -owned tennis courts. <br />
