The citation fine is $100.
Board /Commission Findings
October 6, 2010 — Recreation and Parks Commission discussed the issue and suggested
wording for the regulation.
November 3, 2010 — Recreation and Parks Commission reviewed the proposed regulation
and requested it be forwarded to City Council for review and approval.
Summary of Public Outreach Efforts
Members of the public who use tennis courts have been contacting the City with their
complaints.
Fiscal Impact
Not applicable.
Budget Authority
Not applicable.
Attachments
None.
CONCLUSION
Due to the increased number of complaints regarding the use of tennis courts for soccer as well
as the concern for the cost of surfacing and maintaining tennis courts, staff and the Recreation
and Parks Commission recommend that the City Council approve the proposed resolution to: 1)
add a regulation to the existing rules and regulations for the use of public parks and recreational
facilities in §7.1.205 of the San Leandro Administrative Code, and 2) approve the language for
noticing the regulation at the City -owned tennis courts.
