Estudillo Callan Parking Garage <br /> CSA — Walker Parking Consultants 3 December 6, 2010 <br /> City Council Committee Review and Action <br /> On September 9 2008, December 9, 2008. and May 12 2009, the City Council Facilities and <br /> Transportation Committee received updates on the status of the Estudillo Callan Parking Garage <br /> Project. <br /> Applicable General Plan Policy <br /> • 6.01 Downtown Plan Implementation. In accordance with the adopted Downtown Plan and <br /> Urban Design Guidelines, ensure that the new downtown is attractive and creates an image <br /> conducive to economic revitalization <br /> • 6.07 Parking. Ensure that parking for downtown businesses remains convenient, but take <br /> steps to de- emphasize surface parking lots as a dominant feature of the downtown <br /> landscape. Establish satellite parking areas including attractively- designed parking <br /> structures, accessed by well- defined and inviting pedestrian passageways <br /> Permits and /or Variances Granted <br /> • I3ay Area Air Quality Management Permit will be issued for the demolition <br /> • City Building Permits were issued <br /> Environmental Review <br /> The environmental process for this project was completed as part of the Downtown TOD <br /> Strategy Environmental Impact Report (EIR). <br /> Code Compliance Review <br /> Code review was completed as part of the permit approval from the City of San Leandro <br /> Building Division and the Alameda County Fire Department. <br /> Summary of Public Outreach Efforts <br /> • Meetings and communication with neighboring property owners was on -going throughout the <br /> design process, addressing both the new facility and temporary parking concerns during <br /> construction <br /> • During construction, approximately 240 temporary replacement parking spaces will be <br /> provided at the former Chamber of Commerce /Mustang bar site on the corner of Davis and <br /> Hays Streets and at 1550 East 14` Street; the former Albertsons site <br /> Fiscal Impact <br /> • The estimated cost of this professional consulting service contract is $244,000 and funding is <br /> included in the overall project funding allocation. <br />
