IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO RESOLUTION NO. 2010 - RESOLUTION ADOPTING A PREQUALIFICATION PROCEDURE AS SPECIFIED IN PUBLIC CONTRACT CODE SECTION 20101[d]; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO PREPARE AND PUBLISH A PREQUALIFICATION QUESTIONNAIRE FOR THE INSTRUMENTATION AND PROCESS CONTROL SCOPE OF WORK; AND AUTFIORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO APPROVE THE LIST OF PREQUALIFIED CONTRACTORS TO PERFORM SAID SCOPE OF WORK FOR THE WATER POLLUTION CONTROL PLANT (WPCP) REHABILITATION PROJECT, PROJECT NO. 08- 593 -52 -239. Recitals WHEREAS, the City is planning the construction of significant public improvements to the Water Pollution Control Plant; and. WHEREAS, the instrumentation and control systems are critical components of the planned construction, requiring highly qualified and trained personnel to install said systems; and, WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City to limit the installation of instrumentation and control systems at the WPCP to only duly qualified contractors; and WHEREAS, the City is permitted under California Public Contract Code section 20101[d] to establish a prequalification procedure. NOW, TI-IEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as follows: That the City Council hereby approves the preparation and use of a prequalification procedure for the purpose of prequalifying instrumentation and control system contractors for the WPCP Rehabilitation Project; and That the City Council hereby authorizes the City Manager to prepare all documents necessary to conduct a prequalification procedure for said contractors in accordance with state law; and That upon conclusion of the City's prequalification procedure and generation of a prequalified list of contractors to perform the required scope of work, the City Manager is authorized to approve the prequalification list for use in the contract documents for the WPCP Rehabilitation Project.
