League of California Cities, East Bay Division, Board of Directors <br /> Oakland Airport- Community Noise Management Forum <br /> . - . ::rative Exec <br /> COMMISSION PROFILE <br /> Title of Commission: BOARD OF APPEALS <br /> Description of Board Duties: <br /> The Board of Appeals created under Section 7 -5 -110 of the San Leandro <br /> Municipal Code shall hear and decide appeals of orders, decisions, or <br /> determinations made by the Building Official or Fire Marshall relative to <br /> application and interpretation of this Article. <br /> The Board shall adopt reasonable rules and regulations for conducting its hearings <br /> and shall render all of its decisions and findings in writing. The decision of the <br /> Board shall be final and conclusive on matters relating to the suitability of <br /> alternative materials and types of construction. Upon receipt of the Board's <br /> written decision, the Building Official /Fire Marshall shall proceed in accordance <br /> therewith. <br /> MEMBERSHIP: <br /> The Board shall consist of five (5) members to be appointed by the Mayor, four <br /> (4) of whom shall be registered civil engineers, all who are qualified by <br /> experience and training to pass upon matters pertaining to building construction, <br /> engineering, or fire inspection. In addition thereto, the Building Official shall be <br /> an ex officio member, shall act as Secretary to the Board, and shall have a voice <br /> but no vote. The members appointed by the Mayor shall hold office at the <br /> Mayor's pleasure. <br /> MEETING SCHEDULE: <br /> The Board of Appeals meets on an as- needed basis. <br /> XVI - 2 <br />
