• • IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO • RESOLUTION NO. 2010 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER OR HIS DESIGNEE TO SIGN, ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO, AN AGREEMENT WITH THE ASSOCIATION OF BAY AREA GOVERNMENTS FOR PARTICIPATION IN THE BAY AREA -WIDE TRASH CAPTURE DEMONSTRATION PROJECT WHEREAS, the Municipal Regional Stormwater Permit Order # R2- 2009 -0074 requires the City of San Leandro as a permittee to reduce trash Toads from municipal separate storm sewer • systems by 40% by 2014, 70% by 2017 and 100% by 2022; and WHEREAS, the Association of Bay Area Governments is offering the City of San Leandro a $99,893.00 grant to acquire trash capture devices as part of the Bay Area -wide Trash Capture Demonstration project; and WHEREAS, City staff has reviewed the Association of Bay Area Governments agreement, reviewed potential trash capture devices and recommends the use of' these grant funds in a manner consistent with the Association of Bay Area Governments agreement and to implement the Municipal Regional Stormwater Permit Order requirements. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as follows: The City Council authorizes the City Manager or his designee to sign a grant funding agreement for the acquisition and installation of stormwater trash capture devices., The City Manager or his designee is hereby authorized and empowered to execute in the name of the City of San Leandro all necessary applications, agreements, and amendments thereto for the purposes of securing grant funds to implement City participation in the Bay Area -wide Trash Capture Demonstration Project.
