Discussion Regarding East 14 Street Striping <br /> Uche Udemezue provided background regarding the East 14 Street Striping project. He <br /> explained that staff had done extensive outreach to the community and asked for input by <br /> sending out 3,600 surveys. Only 20 completed surveys were received back, with the <br /> biggest concern coming from residents on Georgia Way. <br /> Keith Cooke gave a PowerPoint presentation. He explained that recent community <br /> comments indicate supporting, opposing and neutral opinions about the project. The <br /> results of the comments show concern for Georgia Way access, repeating priorities, <br /> future improvement recommendations and improvement of traffic safety and flow on <br /> East 14 Street. Keith stated that the next steps will be to take the item to City Council in <br /> January 2011, award the contract and begin construction in Spring 2011. <br /> 3. Public Comments <br /> A change to the agenda was made to accommodate the residents present to speak <br /> regarding the East 14 Street Striping project. <br /> • Jim Pineo stated his concerns regarding the busy traffic on East N Street. As a <br /> resident of Georgia Way he explained that durin� peak traffic it is extremely difficult <br /> to make both left and right tums onto East 14' Street. Mr. Pineo also stated that <br /> double parking is a problem, which adds to the traffic issues. <br /> • Gloria Pineo, a Georgia Way resident, reiterated the statements made by Mr. Jim <br /> Pineo. <br />
