O SO4 H <br /> San Leandro Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan - '& • <br /> EXECUTIVE SUMMARY 14 ' ' <br /> A series of ten Pedestrian Improvements Areas are presented in the Plan. These <br /> areas were chosen for their proximity to important destinations, need for <br /> connectivity improvements, or potential for future development. Seven of these <br /> areas were previously identified in the 2004 Plan and three are new to this <br /> update. They include: <br /> 1, San Leandro Marina <br /> 2. Westgate Center <br /> 3. Kaiser Development Area <br /> 4. Manor Boulevard / Washington Avenue <br /> 5. Downtown San Leandro BART Station <br /> 6. East 14`" Street Corridor <br /> 7. Bancroft Avenue / Dutton Avenue <br /> 8. Bay Fair BART Station <br /> 9. MacArthur Boulevard <br /> 10. Estudillo Avenue —1 -580 Underpass to Anthony Chabot Park <br /> Key Pedestrian Locations identify specific areas where improvements are <br /> suggested. These areas should be further analyzed and studied to determine a <br /> feasible and acceptable design. Twenty locations were identified, including the <br /> following: <br /> 1. Garfield Elementary School 11. San Leandro Boulevard/ <br /> 2. Davis Street /I -880 Washington Avenue Intersection <br /> 3. Cherry Grove Park 12. McKinley Elementary School <br /> 4. Woodrow Wilson Elementary 13. Bancroft Middle School <br /> School/ John Muir Middle School 14. East 14th Street /San Leandro <br /> 5. Wicks Boulevard at the Marina Boulevard Intersection <br /> Community Center 15. 136th Avenue /Bancroft Avenue <br /> 6. Bonaire Park 16. Washington Avenue /Lewelling <br /> 7. Pacific Community Recreation Boulevard Intersection <br /> Complex 17. Grand Avenue /Joaquin Avenue <br /> 8. Washington Elementary School Intersection <br /> 9. Corvallis Elementary School 18. Jefferson Elementary School <br /> 10. Floresta Boulevard /Monterey 19. 150th Avenue /Hesperian <br /> • <br /> Boulevard Jefferson Elementary Boulevard /Bancroft Avenue/ East <br /> School 14th Street Intersection <br /> 20.
