DRAFT MINUTES Page 3 <br />Cite of San Leandro Cite Council and San Leandro Redevelopment Agency Special Joint Meeting — January 17, 2011 <br />Consideration of the letter was not listed on the agenda. Council and staff discussed <br />having the City Manager sign the letter. <br />Councilmember Starosciak commented on the excellent discussion points contained in <br />the letter. She pointed out the many benefits to the school districts of the redevelopment <br />pass - through funds for capital projects. <br />Business Development Analyst Jeff Key outlined the key points of the letter. <br />Ms. Williams determined that, in order for the Council to be able to consider the letter, <br />it must find that there was a need to take immediate action, and that the need for the <br />action came to the City's attention after the agenda was posted. Since less than two - <br />thirds of the Council membership was present, the vote must be unanimous. <br />• Minute Order No. 2011 -002 Motion Adding to the Agenda Consideration of a <br />Letter to State Officials Opposing the Elimination of Redevelopment Agencies. <br />By motion, the City Council added to the agenda consideration of a letter to <br />State officials opposing the elimination of redevelopment agencies. The <br />Council found that there was a need to take immediate action to consider the <br />letter, and that this need came to the City's attention after the agenda was <br />posted. <br />M/S /C Souza and Prola.
