When can the Conceptual Design Team get involved in designing <br /> a project? <br /> Response: In early 2011, after the architects are selected. The <br /> projected timeframe for conceptual team input for the two marquee <br /> projects (Burrell and San Leandro High School pool) is late February <br /> to April, 2011. <br /> Q7. What is the architect's role? <br /> Response: The architect's role is to design the project based upon <br /> the budget available, educational program desired, and other District <br /> needs. The Architect, along with the District staff and others, will <br /> facilitate the community input process. By law, the architect is <br /> responsible for designing to California Building Code, Education <br /> Code, Title 24 and obtaining DSA and all other plan approvals prior to <br /> the District signing a contract for construction. <br /> Q8. Why does it take so long for the Division of State Architect (DSA) <br /> to approve the architect drawings /construction plans? <br /> ) <br /> Response: Great question.
