and light renovations at all remaining campuses, and phase II of the
CTE renovation are scheduled.
•
Q1O. Measure B has a Citizens' Oversight Committee (COC) that
serves as a fiscal watchdog for the bond. Will there be a COC for
Measure M, as well?
Response: Yes. It is required by law for all voter- approved general
obligation bonds (Proposition 39). It is suggested that the same COC
would serve both Measure B and Measure M bonds. District's legal
counsel has drafted a revision of the COC bylaws, which will be
provided to the Measure B COC members for their input. The next
steps would then be to present it to the Board Facilities & Technology
Committee for their review, and then finally, to the full Board for
approval. The new bylaws should be approved within 60 days of
receiving the official vote tally from the Registrar of Voters, which was
on November 29, 2010. The bylaws are expected to go before the full
Board at the January 25, 2010 board meeting.
It is anticipated that there will be some openings on the Committee
for interested individuals who might want to apply. •
•
