Council and staff discussed
having the City Manager sign the letter.
Councilmember Starosciak commented on the excellent discussion points contained in
the letter. She pointed out the many benefits to the school districts of the redevelopment
pass - through funds for capital projects.
Business Development Analyst Jeff Key outlined the key points of the letter.
Ms. Williams determined that, in order for the Council to be able to consider the letter,
it must find that there was a need to take immediate action, and that the need for the
action came to the City's attention after the agenda was posted. Since less than two -
thirds of the Council membership was present, the vote must be unanimous.
• Minute Order No. 2011 - 002, Motion Adding to the Agenda Consideration of a
Letter to State Officials Opposing the Elimination of Redevelopment Agencies.
By motion, the City Council added to the agenda consideration of a letter to
State officials opposing the elimination of redevelopment agencies.
