Recreational Vehicle Parking 2 March 2, 2011 <br /> This, in effect, would allow a household to park a RV on a residential street twenty -four times <br /> per year for seventy -two hours at a time, with an extension of an additional seventy -two hours on <br /> each request as needed. In total, this will allow a RV owner to park his/her RV in front of their <br /> home a total of one hundred forty -four (144) hours or six days, twenty -four times per year. <br /> Current City Council Policy <br /> Section 6 -1 -430 (a)(3) was adopted in 1982 to allow parking of recreational vehicles on <br /> residential streets with restrictions. <br /> Previous City Council Action(s) <br /> Ordinance No. 82 -084 <br /> City Council Committee Review and Action <br /> This matter has been reviewed at the Rules and Communications Committee meetings on <br /> October 26, 2010, November 23, 2010, and January 27, 2011, with the above recommendation <br /> reported to the full City Council at the February 25, 2011 City Council meeting. <br /> Summary of Public Outreach Efforts <br /> While no direct public outreach has been attempted on this matter, numerous individuals have <br /> spoken at the City Council Rules and Communications Committee meetings in support of <br /> relaxing the current restrictions. <br /> Fiscal Im pact <br /> None <br /> CONCLUSION <br /> It is recommended that Section 6 -1 -430 (a)(3) of the San Leandro Municipal Code be amended <br /> to permit the parking of recreational vehicles on residential streets twenty -four (24) times per <br /> year upon request to the San Leandro Police Department for an exemption of oversize vehicle <br /> parking restrictions. <br />
