Ordinance No. 2011 - 002, an Ordinance of the City of San Leandro Repealing <br /> Section 6- 1- 430(a)(3) of the San Leandro Municipal Code, and Adopting a New <br /> Section 6- 1- 430(ax3) Permitting the Parking of Recreational Vehicles on Residential <br /> Streets upon Request for Exemption (permits the parking of recreational vehicles on <br /> residential streets 24 times per year). <br /> Public Comments on Item 8.C.: <br /> Tom Saunders, San Leandro resident, addressed the City Council, providing the <br /> Council with a sheet of comments he received from other recreational vehicle (RV) <br /> owners. Mr. Saunders commented that the City cannot override state law. <br /> Tom Godbier, San Leandro resident, addressed the City Council, commenting in <br /> favor of the ordinance amendments. <br /> Tom Walsh, San Leandro resident, addressed the City Council, commenting that he <br /> takes approximately 15 to 18 trips per year in his RV. Mr. Walsh suggested either <br /> increasing the number of exemptions to 25 to 30 per year, or eliminating the RV <br /> parking restriction entirely. <br /> Kathy Decker, San Leandro resident, addressed the City Council, expressing <br /> support for the ordinance amendments. Ms. Decker commented that she takes two - <br /> three trips per month in her RV. <br /> Al Fernandez, San Leandro resident, addressed the City Council, commenting that <br /> he is a boat owner, and has a need for the additional days prior to and after each trip. <br /> Frances Costa, San Leandro resident, addressed the City Council, commenting in <br /> support of the proposed ordinance amendments. Mrs. Costa asked how RV owners <br /> would be notified of the new regulations, and how the additional enforcement would <br /> be staffed and funded. <br />
