Content on Social Media Sites where data collection is not possible retention will <br /> be maintained consistent with that Social Media site's particular terms of service. For <br /> example, if Social Media Site allows the end user access to the last six months of content <br /> and comments, the retention of that data is six months. <br /> • Consideration should be given to the fact that most social networking websites permit <br /> and invite responsive posts by readers. Allowing interactive, responsive posting can be <br /> of great benefit to the City in that it offers a channel for persons to provide feedback and <br /> suggestions. Unfortunately, it is resource intensive and provides an opportunity for <br /> • harmful communications to occur. <br /> • <br /> Postine and Maintenance of the Social Media Site <br /> • If a Social Media site allows comments, the following disclaimer should be visible on the <br /> site: "Comments posted to this page will be monitored. Under the City of San Leandro <br /> Social Networking Policy, the Council Member reserves the right to remove <br /> inappropriate comments including those that have obscene language or sexual content; <br /> content that promotes, fosters, or perpetuates discrimination on the basis of race, religion, <br /> color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, marital status, age or physical or mental <br /> disability, or any other protected status; threaten or defame any person or organization; <br /> violate the legal ownership interest of another party; support or oppose political candidate <br /> or ballot propositions; promote illegal activity; endorse commercial services or products; <br /> or are not topically related to the particular posting.
