U LI U • <br /> Affected Environment: <br /> The project site is in an existing urban area that is already provided with public services, as described <br /> below. <br /> Fire protection and emergency services. Fire protection and emergency services are provided to the <br /> project site by the Alameda County Fire Department (ACFD), which has a contract with the City of <br /> San Leandro. The ACFD operates five fire stations within the City of San Leandro. The closest fire <br /> station to the project site is Station 9, located at 450 Estudillo Avenue, approximately one mile to the <br /> east of the project site. <br /> Police Protection. Police protection is provided by the San Leandro Police Department. located at <br /> 901 East 14 Street in the Civic Center complex. <br /> Schools. The project site is in the San Leandro Unified School District, which operates eight <br /> elementary schools, two middle schools, a high school and a continuation school. The closest school <br /> to the project site is the Washington Elementary School, located approximately three quarters of a <br /> mile to the east. <br /> Parks. Please see Section XIV. Recreation: Affected Environment for a description of the City's <br /> parks and other recreational facilities. <br /> Other Public Facilities.
