Wicks Blue Dolphin Lift Station Rehabilitation - <br /> Acceptance of Work 2 April 4, 2010 <br /> directly, bypassing the Merced Lift Station and avoiding secondary handling of the flow. <br /> • <br /> Maintenance bypass valves were installed, which can divert flows between the Merced and <br /> Wicks force mains to provide system redundancy and easier maintenance. Work on this station <br /> also included structural rehabilitation of the wet well, electrical and communication systems <br /> upgrades and installation of a new standby emergency power generator. <br /> Construction is now complete and is in compliance with the contract documents. <br /> Current City Council Policy <br /> Ensure well - maintained sewer facilities. <br /> Previous City Council Action(s) <br /> • On April 5. 2010. by Resolution No. 2010 -036, the City Council awarded the construction <br /> contract to Con -Quest Contractors, Inc. <br /> • On January 19. 2010, by Resolution No. 2010 -005, the City Council approved plans and <br /> specifications and call for bids for this project <br /> • On May 4, 2009, by Resolution No. 2009 -060, the City Council approved a consulting <br /> services agreement with Freyer and Laureta. Inc. for the design of this project <br /> Applicable General Ilan Policy <br /> Policy 52.04: Maintain efficient, environmentally sound, and cost - effective wastewater <br /> collection and treatment services in Sati Leandro. <br /> Permits and /or Variances Granted <br /> The project is in compliance with building permits BLD2009 -01608 and BLD2009- 01605. <br /> • <br /> Environmental Review <br /> California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) exemption was filed with Alameda County, <br /> pursuant to Section 15301 "Existing Facilities ". <br /> Fiscal Impact <br /> A summary of the construction contract with Con -Quest Contractors Inc. is as follows: <br /> Original Contract $771,500.00 <br /> Contract Change Orders $ 81,163.49 <br /> Total Contract Amount $852,663.49 <br /> Change orders included additional work to stop existing leaks in the Wicks Lift Station wet well, <br /> concrete sitework, and construction of a maintenance bypass valve. <br />
