The project site is located in the FEMA 100 -Year Flood Plain. However, the <br /> proposed pipe bridges project does not include construction of housing and, therefore, would not <br /> place housing within a 100 -year flood hazard area. <br /> h) Place within a 100 year food hazard area structures which would impede or redirect flood <br /> flows? <br /> Less Than Significant Impact. The proposed project would not include any new structures that <br /> would impede or redirect flood flows. <br /> i) Expose people or structures to a significant risk of loss, it jury or death involving flooding, <br /> including flooding as a result of the failure of a levee or dam? <br /> Less Than Significant Impact. The proposed project would reduce the risk of damage to the <br /> pipes during flooding. Thus, the proposed project would have a beneficial impact on the existing <br /> structures during flood events. No people reside on the project site and no housing is proposed. <br /> Therefore, the proposed project would not expose people or structures to a significant risk of loss, <br /> injury or death involving flooding. <br /> j) Inundation by seiche, tsunami, or mudflow? <br /> No Impact. A seiche is a long wavelength, large -scale wave action set up in a reservoir or closed <br /> body of water. Tsunamis are long period water waves caused by underwater seismic events, <br /> volcanic eruptions, or undersea landslides. Mudflows typically occur in mountainous or hilly <br /> terrain. The project site is not near a reservoir or other closed body of water and is located over a <br /> mile east of the San Francisco Bay shoreline.
