DRAFT MINUTES Page 10 <br />Cite of San Leandro Cite Council and San Leandro Redevelopment Agency Joint Meeting — April 18, 2011 <br />Councilmember Souza commented on a letter she received regarding traffic and parking <br />problems on Kesterson Street, and asked if staff could look into the procedure for changing a <br />designated trick route. She gave the Redwood Christian School class a presentation on <br />ranked choice voting; and attended the Alameda County Mayors Conference dinner. <br />Councilmember Souza thanked the members of the audience for sharing their thoughts and <br />comments tonight. <br />Councilmember Gregory reported that he, along with City staff, gave a tour of the proposed <br />TOD (Transit Oriented Development) site to a group of philanthropists called the Funders <br />Network. Councilmember Gregory attended a Girls, Inc. program on April 12; the <br />community advisory committee meeting for Eden Township Healthcare District; and the <br />Association of Bay Area Governments [ABAG] Spring General Assembly. He applauded the <br />selection of Officer Ryan Gill as Officer of the Year, commenting that he once had the <br />opportunity to do a ride -along with him. <br />Mayor Cassidy commented that he would like to see the City Manager's Weekly Update <br />posted on the City website. He stressed the importance of maintaining the confidentiality of <br />the candidates in the City Manager recruitment process. <br />The Council engaged in a brief discussion regarding employee group input into the process. <br />Mayor Cassidy attended the Alameda County Mayors Conference, and suggested that Fire <br />Chief Sheldon Gilbert's presentation regarding regional approaches to fire services should <br />also be presented to the Council. He stated that he would also like to have a presentation to <br />the Council on the East Bay Greenway. Mayor Cassidy stated that he would like to refer to <br />the Rules and Communications Committee the consideration for expanding the use of digital <br />audio recording to City Council Committee meetings, in the interest of greater transparency. <br />It was the consensus of the Council to do so. <br />13.
