DRAFT MINUTES Page 9 <br />Cite of San Leandro Cite Council and San Leandro Redevelopment Agency Joint Meeting — April 18, 2011 <br />Chamber of Commerce at Marina Mechanical on April 22; and the Run for the Schools on <br />May 1. <br />Councilmember Gregory announced the opening of the Downtown Farmers' Market on April <br />20. He will lead a Bike San Leandro tour on May 15. <br />Councilmember Cutter announced the San Leandro Arts Education Center ribbon - cutting on <br />April 25. <br />Mayor Cassidy suggested that the Council report on the events occurring between now and <br />the next regular meeting. He reported that the Rules and Communications Committee had <br />requested that staff publish a calendar of events and a schedule of upcoming work sessions <br />monthly in the City Manager's Weekly Update. He suggested posting the Weekly Update on <br />the City's website, since it is already being provided to the news media. <br />12. CITY COUNCIL REPORTS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS <br />City Councilmembers report on meetings and other local events attended since the last <br />meeting; report on attendance at conferences and seminars; and make brief comments on <br />issues of concern. <br />Vice Mayor Reed attended the Administration & Organization meeting of StopWaste.Org on <br />April 6; the African American Business Association meeting on April 7; Supervisor Wilma <br />Chan's Open House on April 9; the reception honoring boxer Nonito Donaire on April 10; a <br />presentation to students at the Redwood Christian School government class on April 11; the <br />StopWaste.Org orientation with Councilmember Cutter; the Alameda County Housing <br />Authority meeting on April 13; and the Mega Region Summit on April 15. <br />Councilmember Prola attended the Spectrum Community Services Open House on April 7; <br />the Chamber of Commerce Government Affairs Committee meeting; the Alameda County <br />Mosquito Abatement District meeting on April 13; the Alameda County Mayors Conference <br />meeting at the Senior Community Center; the Northern California Mega Region Summit; the <br />Earth Day celebration at Waste Management; and a meeting at the East Bay Dischargers <br />Authority on April 18. <br />Councilmember Cutter attended the April 14 meeting as the alternate to StopWaste.Org. She <br />commented on the upcoming budget presentations, stating that she would like to find a way to <br />restore some funding to the social service agencies. Councilmember Cutter commented <br />favorably on the idea of holding health clinics at the Alameda County fire stations. <br />Councilmember Starosciak expressed appreciation to Mayor Cassidy for the update on the <br />City Manager recruitment process, and asked the ad hoc committee to discuss including input <br />by the City department heads and employee groups. Councilmember Starosciak requested a <br />future Council tour of the Traffic Command Center. <br />
