These
replacement restrooms were individually designed for each park based on a common design
prototype. While this method resulted in a quality product, the cost was high and construction .
time was significant, causing extensive park disruption.
At Toyon Park, the City determined that the best solution for its restroom replacement was to
install a pre- fabricated restroom structure. Several vendor proposals were evaluated, and Public
Restroom Company (PRC) was selected as the preferred vendor for this building. Subsequently,
a sole— source contract with PRC was approved by City Council.
Prior to installing the pre - fabricated structure the site must be prepared. Because pre- fabrication
vendors do not have the capability to undertake site preparation, these tasks will be performed by
a separate contractor as part of this project.
