Preda Street Pipe Bridges Upgrade <br /> Award of Contract 2 May 16, 2011 <br /> Analysis <br /> Bids were opened on May 3, 2011. Two (2) bids were received ranging from $329,440.00 to <br /> $432,980.00. Redwood Engineering Company was the lowest responsible bidder. The <br /> engineer's estimate for the work was $470,000. Staff has also verified that the Contractor is in <br /> good standing through the Contractors State License Board's website. <br /> Current City Council Policy <br /> Ensure well maintained sewer facilities. <br /> Previous City Council Action(s) <br /> • On July 6, 2009, by Resolution No. 2009 -100 the City Council approved a consulting <br /> services agreement with Creegan + D'Angelo for the design and environmental plan <br /> • On February 7, 2011, by Resolution No. 2011 -015, the City Council authorized the City <br /> Manager to execute a Supplemental Agreement with Union Pacific Railroad to document the <br /> existing pipeline crossing its right of way <br /> • On April 4, 2011, by Resolution No. 2011 -069, the City Council adopted a Mitigated <br /> Negative Declaration, approved the plans and specifications and called for bids for the <br /> subject project <br /> Applicable General Plan Policy <br /> Policy 52.04: Maintain efficient, environmentally sound, and cost - effective wastewater <br /> collection and treatment services in San Leandro. <br /> Permits and /or Variances Granted <br /> • Alameda County Flood Control & Water Conservation Department Encroachment Permit <br /> • California Department of Fish & Game Permit <br /> Environmental Review <br /> California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Mitigated Negative Declaration has been filed <br /> with Alameda County, pursuant to Section 15301 "Existing Facilities ". <br /> Fiscal l mpact <br /> The estimated construction cost of this project is $412,440. <br />
