Continued Discussion Regarding Regulations for Oversized Vehicles
This matter was referred to the Committee for review in April by the Council.
Public Comments:
Thomas Saunders, San Leandro resident, suggested that a return perniit be issued to an RV
owner only if the vehicle is gone for at least 24 -36 hours. He commented that he believes the
new system is working.
Ms. Ornelas pointed out that the ordinance was also intended to address out of town visitors
who park their RVs in residential areas.
Chair Cassidy expressed concern that the system could be abused, and suggested that there be
two options: a longer term option for visitors, and a shorter term option for residents.
The Committee asked staff to monitor the situation over the next few months, and bring the
matter back for review again in November.
