, • <br /> • <br /> TITLE VII MAPS, BUILDINGS AND SUBDIVISIONS <br /> • <br /> Chapter 3 • Zoning <br /> Section 7 -3 -151: PUBLIC USE. "Public Use" means a use operated <br /> exclusively by a public or governmental body and having the <br /> purpose of serving the public health, safety or general welfare, <br /> including, but not limited to, public schools, colleges, <br /> universities, parks, playgrounds, hospitals, and administrative <br /> and service facilities. <br /> Section 7 -3 -152: NON - CONFORMING USE. "Non- Conforming Use" means <br /> a use of land or any property (including buildings or structures) <br /> which was lawfully established and maintained, and not otherwise a <br /> public nuisance or in violation of prior conditions of approval <br /> from the County of Alameda, but which, because of the application <br /> of the provisions of this Chapter to it, no longer conforms to the <br /> regulations of the district in which it is located. <br /> Section 7 -3 -153: NON - CONFORMING BUILDING. "Non- Conforming <br /> Building" means a building or structure or portion thereof, which <br /> - was lawfully erected (or upon which initial construction has <br /> • <br /> .legally commenced), altered and maintained and not otherwise' a <br /> - public nuisance or in.violation prior conditions of .approval <br /> from the County of Alameda, but which, because of the application <br /> of the provisions of this Chapter to it, no longer conforms to the <br /> regulations of the district in which it is located. A building <br /> shall not be deemed to be non - conforming if it does not comply <br /> solely with the yard requirements for the district in which it is <br /> located. <br /> Section 7 -3 -154: SECONDARY DWELLING UNIT. "Secondary dwelling <br /> unit" means as set forth in Section 7 -3 -900. <br /> Section 7 -3 -155: AUTOMOBILE SERVICE STATION. "Automobile <br /> service station" means a structure or premises where automotive <br /> fuels are supplied and dispensed at retail to operators of motor <br /> vehicles and where oil, grease, batteries, motor vehicle <br /> accessories, or minor vehicle repairs may be supplied or <br /> conducted. Other retail sales may be conducted with conditional <br /> use approval, provided that the sale .of alcoholic beverages is • <br /> prohibited at automobile service stations. <br /> Section 7 -3 -156: CONVENIENCE FOOD STORE.
