• <br /> TITLE VII MAPS, BUILDINGS AND SUBDIVISIONS <br /> Chapter 3 Zoning <br /> Section 7 -3 -200: RESIDENCE DISTRICTS. Certain classes of <br /> districts, designated by the primary symbol "R" or by the single <br /> symbol "0" and referred to collectively herein as Residence <br /> Districts or R Districts are established: (1) to provide space in <br /> suitable locations for the various types of dwelling <br /> accommodations needed in the City; (2) to provide a means of <br /> regulating the density and distribution of the population in <br /> conformance with the General Plan; and (3) to stabilize and <br /> protect the residential character of the districts and to promote <br /> and encourage a suitable environment for family life on a <br /> neighborhood basis.
