Hollister <br />City Manager <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING AN IMPROVEMENT AGREEMENT WITH KAISER <br />FOUNDATION HOSPITALS FOR PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS ON MERCED STREET AND <br />FAIRWAY DRIVE. <br />SUMMARY AND RECOMMENDATION <br />Authorizes the City Manager to execute an agreement with Kaiser Foundation Hospitals <br />specifying the manner in which improvements to the public right of way required by the Kaiser <br />Hospital Project at 2500 and 2550 Merced Street are to be made. <br />Staff recommends approval of an improvement agreement with Kaiser Foundation Hospitals for <br />public improvements on Merced Street and Fairway Drive. <br />BACKGROUND <br />Kaiser Foundation Hospitals (Kaiser) has entitlements for a project at 2500 and 2550 Merced <br />Street (formerly 1701 Marina Boulevard) consisting primarily of a new hospital and medical <br />office building on the southern portion of the site. Kaiser is currently erecting steel for the <br />hospital building and installing onsite utilities. Some utility relocation and tie in work in the <br />roadway is complete with plans for more in the near future. Kaiser rough graded the site and <br />paved some of the parking lots. The entitlements for the project are conditioned upon mitigating <br />the impacts of the project and making certain improvements to the property frontage. Additional <br />public improvements may be required when the northern portion of the site is developed. These <br />additional improvements will be reviewed by staff, and if necessary, an additional improvement <br />agreement will be developed. <br />
