WHEREAS, District Hospital status will enhance both organizations financial viability <br /> and improve the access and outreach of safety net providers in the County; and <br /> WHEREAS, recognizing this opportunity to keep San Leandro Hospital and its <br /> emergency services open as a full- service acute facility in San Leandro, the City Council <br /> supports the efforts of St. Rose Hospital and the Eden Township Healthcare District to <br /> implement the proposed comprehensive solution for health care services in central Alameda <br /> County, including acute rehabilitation services; and <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as <br /> follows: <br /> That Alameda County and Sutter Health are hereby urged to work together with St. Rose <br /> Hospital and the Eden Township Healthcare District to bring into operation the proposed two <br /> hospital public healthcare system designed to preserve and enhance critically needed acute care <br /> and emergency services for the residents of central Alameda County. <br /> Introduced by Councilmember Starosciak and passed and adopted this 6th day of June, <br /> 2011, by the following called vote: <br /> Members of the Council: <br /> AYES: Councilmembers Cutter, Gregory, Prola, Reed, Souza, Starosciak; <br /> Mayor Cassidy (7) <br /> NOES: None (0) <br /> ABSENT: None (0) <br /> ATTEST: — 1//UVLI.G <br /> Marian Handa, City Clerk <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 2011 - 100 2 <br />
