• •
2. Report on Ground Traffic Study Status
Port staff reported on the airport ground traffic study that was requested by members of the
Airport Master Plan Stakeholder Advisory Committee. The study will be a cooperative effort
between the Cities of San Leandro, Alameda, Oakland and the Port of Oakland to identify
traffic patterns and to see where airport ground traffic is coming from and going to. While
the study will not determine "impacts" from ground traffic or propose mitigations, it will
provide valuable planning information for all of the Cities and the Port.
The Port intends to issue a Request for Proposals in the fall for a consultant to conduct the
study.
3. Open Forum
There were no members of the public present.
Councilmember Santos commented on the need to keep working toward eliminating 727's
from the FedEx fleet at the airport. Aviation Director Steve Grossman commented that
FedEx had written an e -mail to Port staff to confirm that they will be eliminating the 727-
100's from their fleet at OAK by July 2007.
Councilmember Santos asked for a report on what transpired at the most recent Oakland -
Community Noise Management Forum. Port staff reported that a member of the South Field
Study Group has asked the Forum to undertake a study of weather inversion conditions in
connection with noise incidents from the airport's Ground Run -up Enclosure facility. The
Forum has agreed to fund the study.
4. Adjourn
The meeting was adjoumed at 1:15 p.m.
2
