2. Update on Airport Noise Insulation Program <br /> Chief Building Official William Schock reported that the community information meeting <br /> dates have been set for June 17 and July 7. Both meetings will be held during the evening at <br /> the Marina Community Center. Meetings will discuss the proposed priority areas for <br /> selection of the first homes to be insulated in the program, following the CNEL contour maps <br /> previously reviewed by the Committee. Once the program is underway, the project <br /> management firm of C. Kell -Smith and Associates will work one -on -one with each <br /> homeowner that applies to the program to make certain they are clear on all aspects of the <br /> project. <br /> Committee discussion continued on this item throughout the remainder of the meeting. <br /> Committeemembers would like the City Attorney to be present at the community information <br /> meetings to be available to answer questions. <br /> Committeemembers agreed that there should be a final City Council review of the proposed <br /> method for selecting the 200 homes to be insulated prior to the community meetings and the <br /> City Attomey should review the methodology to insure consistency with the settlement <br /> agreement between the City and the Port of Oakland. <br /> Committee Recommendation <br /> City Council approval of proposed methodology for selecting the 200 homes for the Airport <br /> Noise Insulation Program based upon sound contours in the eligible neighborhoods. <br /> 3. Continued Discussion Regarding Appointments of Community Representatives to the <br /> Oakland Airport Master Plan Stakeholder Committee <br /> The Committee was advised there are five San Leandro residents who have applied for • <br /> appointment to the Oakland Airport Master Plan Stakeholder Committee. Throughout the <br /> meeting, the Committee heard recommendations from the audience regarding the <br /> community's recommendations for appointment qualifications. <br /> Following the adjournment of the regular meeting, Committeemembers Santos and Grant <br /> interviewed the five applicants. They recommend appointment of Carmen Fewless of <br /> Galleon Place and James Reynolds of Adason Drive be approved by the City Council as the <br /> City's community representatives to the Stakeholder Committee. <br /> Committee Recommendation <br /> City Council approval of Cannen Fewless and James Reynolds as community representatives <br /> to serve on the Oakland Airport Master Plan Stakeholder Committee. <br /> 4. Discussion Regarding Questions for the Port of Oakland Relating to Adding a Second <br /> Instrument Landing System to the North Field Runways <br /> Community Relations Representative Kathy Ornelas reviewed the discussions that have <br /> taken place regarding this issue at the North Field Research Group meeting and at a special <br /> 2 <br />
