observation and testing of trenching and backfill in the vicinity of the Area 3 improvements in the Contract Drawings. • Foundation construction: Fugro will provide geotechnical services during foundation construction, including observation of footing excavations and observation of ground improvement operations (i.e. soil cement columns). • Laboratory services: Fugro will perform in -house laboratory geotechnical tests in support of earthwork observation and testing. For this task, Fugro has assumed they will perform five 6 -inch mold compaction tests for baserock materials (ASTM D1557) and ten compaction curve checkpoints. • Office services: Fugro will provide the following office engineering services during construction: 1) provide limited supplemental engineering and consultations with Consultant, City, and Contractor as required during the course of construction; 2) respond to contractor RFIs; 3) evaluate proposed import fill materials; 4) provide technical review and document quality control; 5) prepare supplemental geotechnical engineering letters and memoranda to address construction or design issues; 6) provide administrative technical support for document preparation; and 7) provide a final letter as requested by the City to confirm the observed construction was completed in general accordance with the Contract Documents. • Administration Control Building entry and laboratory: Fugro will provide part-time to full -time observation of Bay Mud excavation and shoring operations, placement of fill materials, and trench backfill. Fugro will be onsite to perform field nuclear gauge density testing of compacted soil and sampling of construction materials such as lightweight concrete and CLSM backfill. For this scope, Fugro has assume the construction of this building will not occur until approximately 12 months into the start of construction. Information Provided by City: • None.
