COUNCILMEMBERS HANDBOOK <br />APPENDIX H <br />monitored. The City Councilmember reserves the right to remove inappropriate <br />comments including but not limited to those that have obscene language or sexual <br />content; content that promotes, fosters, or perpetuates discrimination on the basis of race, <br />religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, marital status, age or physical <br />or mental disability; threatens or defames any person or organization; violates the legal <br />ownership interest of another party; promotes illegal activity; endorses commercial <br />services or products; or is not topically related to the particular posting. Any threat to <br />engage in or promotion of illegal activity will be referred to the San Leandro Police <br />Department." <br />• Any inappropriate content and comments described above should not be allowed and <br />should be immediately removed. <br />• Because Social Media sites may have different message or comment retention and <br />retrieval policies, any messages or comments deleted off a social media site should be <br />retained. City Councilmembers should print the comment or save a screen shot before <br />deleting the comment from the Social Media site. <br />• Any Social Media website that a Council Member wishes to maintain must have the <br />ability to remove posts that conflict with these guidelines. <br />• The website should be reviewed regularly to insure compliance with these guidelines. <br />All information posted, and sites or content created should comply with all applicable federal, <br />state and City laws, ordinances, regulations, and policies. <br />
