ADA Ramp Project 11 -12 <br />Award of Contract 2 September 6, 2011 <br />Analysis <br />A total of four (4) bids were received on August 15, 2011. The bids ranged from $128,900.00 to <br />$644,730.00 (math error), with AJW Construction submitting the lowest bid in the amount of <br />$128,900.00, which has been determined to be a responsive bid. The engineer's estimate for <br />construction was $129,265.00. <br />Previous City Council Action(s) <br />On July 18, 2011, by Resolution No. 2011 -145, City Council approved the plans and <br />specifications and called for bids for the subject project. <br />Applicable General Plan Policy <br />Policy 14.07 — Pedestrian Environment — Strive to achieve a more comfortable environment for <br />pedestrians in all areas of San Leandro. <br />Environmental Review <br />Through CEQA review under Class 15, Minor Land Subdivisions, of Title 5, Chapter 1 of the <br />San Leandro Administrative Code, this project has been deemed a Categorical Exclusion. <br />Fiscal Impact <br />• The total cost of the ADA Ramp Project is $175,000, including design, construction and <br />inspection staff time <br />• Construction costs are estimated at $128,900.00 <br />• The project will have no impact on maintenance costs <br />Budget Authori <br />• Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds were allocated in the 2011 -2012 City <br />budget in the amount of $97,449 (Account No. 165 -43 -230) <br />• TDA grant funds have been allocated in the 2009 -2010 and 2010 -2011 City budgets in the <br />amount of $78,054 for this project (Accounts No. 150 -36 -291 $52,000 and 150 -36 -295 <br />$48,"ely) <br />James Ht in Finance Director <br />
