DRAFT MINUTESPage 5 <br />City of San Leandro City Council and San Leandro Redevelopment Agency Joint Meeting--10/3/2011 <br />Emile Awwad, Davis Street Family Resource Center <br />,expressed support forthe <br />Council and its decision. <br />Wafaa Aborashed, San Leandroresident <br />, commented on the need for residents to <br />have the ability to raise their own food. <br />Dan Dillman, San Leandroresident <br />, commented that families deserve to keep <br />chickens and bees, and suggestedlicensing them and charging a fee. Mr. Dillman asked <br />the Council to remove from consideration the zoning code changes that are proposed to <br />move forward for consideration, expressing concern that they would affect his business. <br />Mitch Huitema, San Leandroresident <br />, commented on the enforcement of the chicken <br />and bee ordinance, and asked the Council to consider allowing a reasonable number of <br />chickens and bees. <br />End of Public Comments on Item 8.B.2. <br />Minute Order No. 2011-087 <br />, motion referring the development of an ordinance <br />allowing the keeping of chickens and bees, to the City Council Business and Housing <br />Development Committee. <br />The City Council referred the development of an ordinance allowing the keeping of <br />chickens and beesto the City Council Business and Housing Development <br />Committee. <br />M/S/C Cutter and Prola.
