File Number: 11 -178
and 145th Avenue during the past five years. Staff analysis indicates
that these
three -way
uncontrolled intersections meet the criteria adopted
by the City Council
(i.e., Section
8.3.105
of the San Leandro Administrative Code) for a
two -way stop sign
installation
based on
unusual conditions. Staff determined that the most appropriate right -of -way
control
for these
two intersections is the installation of stop signs
on the Pansy Street
approaches
to 144th
Avenue and to 145th Avenue.
Current Aaencv Policies
• San Leandro Municipal Code Section 6 -1 -215 authorizes the City Council by resolution to
designate the placement of stop signs at intersections
• Resolution No. 87 -143, Resolution Approving Warrants for Two -Way Stop Sign
Installations
• Designated intersections are codified into Chapter 5 -STOP SIGNS - INTERSECTIONS of
the San Leandro Traffic Code
Fiscal Impacts
The cost for these sign installations is $1,200 and the funds are allocated in the Gas Tax
Fund, Account No. 140 -31 -004.
Budget Authority
The Finance Department has confirmed that sufficient funds are available in the
aforementioned account for installation of the stop signs.
PREPARED BY: Dean Hsiao, Traffic Operations Engineer, Engineering and Transportation
City of San Leandro Page 2 Printed on 10/11/2011
