Staff analysis indicates <br />that these <br />three -way <br />uncontrolled intersections meet the criteria adopted <br />by the City Council <br />(i.e., Section <br />8.3.105 <br />of the San Leandro Administrative Code) for a <br />two -way stop sign <br />installation <br />based on <br />unusual conditions. Staff determined that the most appropriate right -of -way <br />control <br />for these <br />two intersections is the installation of stop signs <br />on the Pansy Street <br />approaches <br />to 144th <br />Avenue and to 145th Avenue. <br />Current Aaencv Policies <br />• San Leandro Municipal Code Section 6 -1 -215 authorizes the City Council by resolution to <br />designate the placement of stop signs at intersections <br />• Resolution No. 87 -143, Resolution Approving Warrants for Two -Way Stop Sign <br />Installations <br />• Designated intersections are codified into Chapter 5 -STOP SIGNS - INTERSECTIONS of <br />the San Leandro Traffic Code <br />Fiscal Impacts <br />The cost for these sign installations is $1,200 and the funds are allocated in the Gas Tax <br />Fund, Account No. 140 -31 -004. <br />Budget Authority <br />The Finance Department has confirmed that sufficient funds are available in the <br />aforementioned account for installation of the stop signs. <br />PREPARED BY: Dean Hsiao, Traffic Operations Engineer, Engineering and Transportation <br />City of San Leandro Page 2 Printed on 10/11/2011 <br />
