Ordinance <br />File Number: 11 -380 Agenda Section: CONSENT CALENDAR <br />Agenda Number: 8.G. <br />TO: City Council <br />FROM: Lianne Marshall <br />Interim City Manager /Executive Director <br />BY: Jacqui Diaz <br />Interim Assistant City Manager and <br />Luke Sims <br />Community Development Director <br />FINANCE REVIEW: Not Applicable <br />TITLE: ADOPT: Ordinance No. 2011 -015, an Ordinance Amending Title I, Chapter 1 <br />of the San Leandro Municipal Code Relating to Council Member Districts <br />Ordinance No. 2011 -015 an Ordinance Amending Title I, Chapter 1 of the San Leandro <br />Municipal Code Relating to Council Member Districts <br />WHEREAS, Section 230 of the San Leandro City Charter requires new district <br />boundaries to be adopted by ordinance whenever the results of the federal census show an <br />increase of five percent (5 %) or more since the last redistricting; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council last approved new Council district boundaries in 2002, <br />following the 2000 federal census; and <br />WHEREAS, the 2010 federal census data revealed population growth of 6.92% <br />citywide, triggering the Charter requirement for the Council's adoption of new district <br />boundaries. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does hereby <br />ORDAIN as follows: <br />SECTION 1 . Title I, Chapter 1, of the San Leandro Municipal Code is hereby <br />amended to read as follows: <br />Section 1 -1 -100: DIVISION OF CITY The City of San Leandro is hereby divided <br />into six (6) Council Member Districts. Said districts shall be numbered, and the <br />boundaries thereof shall be as indicated on that certain map entitled "City of San <br />Leandro, Council Member District Map, 2012 ", a copy of which is attached hereto and <br />City of San Leandro Page 1 Printed on 11/29/2011 <br />
