Exhibit B - Public Meeting Announcements <br />San Leandro - Emergency Preparedness <br />DRAFTED MULTI - JURISDICTIONAL LOCAL HAZARD <br />MITIGATION PLAN <br />Major disasters could strike the San Francisco Bay Area at any time. Lives will be lost, property <br />damage will occur, and the Bay Area economy will suffer. The City of San Leandro, along with <br />more than 90 agencies throughout Alameda County and the Bay Area, is participating in <br />developing a plan for public policies needed to mitigate the natural hazards that affect the Bay <br />Area and accelerate economic recovery following a disaster. <br />Under the coordination of the Association of Bay Area Governments (ABAG), this multi- <br />jurisdictional effort should not only maintain and enhance the disaster resistance of our region, <br />but also fulfill the requirements of the nation's disaster Mitigation Act of 2000 for all local <br />governments to develop and adopt this type of plan. <br />The City of San Leandro has completed its draft of the mitigation strategies being adopted by all <br />participating agencies. It is available for review at the link below. Likewise, the PowerPoint <br />presentation to be made to the San Leandro City Council on September 21, 2009 is available on <br />the link below. <br />We welcome your review of and comment on these drafted strategies.
