File Number: 12-025 <br />has been advocating for more funding for pedestrian and bicycles, as well as local streets and <br />roads. She stated that fifteen percent of the funding has been focused on pedestrians and <br />bicycles already. She asked for that to be set as a local benchmark and to require complete street <br />presentations to receive local streets and roads funding. Councilmember Starosciak <br />congratulated staff for an excellent job in terms of local streets and roads funding. <br />3. Project Updates / Discussion <br />The Council members reviewed the Project Updates handout. Discussion ensued. <br />Councilmember Souza stated that she has had residents ask her when the equipment for the Par <br />Course will be installed. Ken Joseph stated that the equipment has arrived and will be installed <br />next month. <br />Councilmember Cutter stated that the crosswalk at the Marina Community Center is in need of <br />flashing lights. She asked if projects would be discussed at the upcoming retreat in February. <br />Ken stated that projects have been discussed at a Council Work Session in the past. <br />Councilmember Souza asked if the Estudillo / Callan Garage project is on schedule. Ken stated <br />that the last deck will be poured next week. Councilmember Souza asked if work on Alvarado <br />between Marina and Fairway has been finalized. Ken stated that staff is working on the punch <br />list. A lot of the work is temperature dependent and should be completed in the next two to <br />three months. <br />Councilmember Starosciak asked if agreements have been received from all residents regarding <br />the Dowling Triangle. Ken stated that letters will be going out to residents in the next week or <br />two. No agreements are in place at this time. <br />Councilmember Cutter asked what work is being done at the Washington / Monterey <br />intersection. Ken stated that is a signalization project to replace the entire signal and provide a <br />dedicated left turn lane on Monterey. <br />Councilmember Cutter asked about the Redundant Fiber Ring. Ken explained the process and <br />the goals of the Information Services Department in the case of fiber being cut. He stated that in <br />the case of the I-880 project, this system will be a necessity. <br />4. Public Comments <br />Chris Crow commented on the materials for the tubes being used on the I-880 projects. Mr. <br />Crow also commented on the bicycle lanes on San Leandro Boulevard / Greenway and the <br />funding for the project. <br />Wafaa Aborashed commented on rail crossings mentioned in the TEP presentation and stated <br />that she would like more information. <br />5.
