City of San Leandro Meeting Date: February 6, 2012 Resolution - Council File Number: 11 -438 Agenda Section: CONSENT CALENDAR Agenda Number: TO: City Council FROM: Chris Zapata City Manager BY: Lianne Marshall Assistant City Manager FINANCE REVIEW: Not Applicable TITLE: ADOPT: Resolution Amending Titles 1, 2 and 10 of the San Leandro Administrative Code Related to the Use of Computer Systems, Email, Information Security and Social Media WHEREAS, technology plays a central role in the daily operations of the City of San Leandro, and the City continues to experience growth in productivity and positive enhancements in communication that benefits the organization and the community; and WHEREAS, the City desires to adopt written policies to assist in the management of electronic communications on City computer systems and technology, to improve computer system efficiency, while also facilitating response to requests for information from the public. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does hereby resolve as follows: That Title 1, Chapter 6 -City Equipment, of the San Leandro Administrative Code, is hereby repealed in its entirety. That Title 1, Chapter 11- Policy Governing Use of City's Electronic Mail System, of the San Leandro Administrative Code, a copy of which is attached hereto as Exhibit A and incorporated herein by this reference, is hereby repealed and reenacted. That Title 2 Chapter 6- Regulation of Social Media Use, of the San Leandro Administrative Code, a copy of which is attached hereto as Exhibit B and incorporated herein by this reference, is hereby adopted. That Title 10, Chapter 3- Automated Data Processing; Chapter 4 -City Equipment; and Chapter 5- Policy Governing Employee Use of the Internet; of the San Leandro Administrative Code, are hereby repealed in their entirety.
