IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 2002 - 76 (1055) <br /> RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR THE HOLDING OF A GENERAL MUNICIPAL <br /> ELECTION FOR THE ELECTION OF A MAYOR AND THREE CITY COUNCIL <br /> MEMBERS; PROVIDING NOTICE OF ELECTION ON THE 5 DAY OF <br /> NOVEMBER, 2002 AND DIRECTING THAT SAID NOTICE BE GIVEN;' AND <br /> REQUESTING THAT THE ALAMEDA COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS <br /> PERMIT THE CONSOLIDATION OF SAID MUNICIPAL ELECTION WITH THE <br /> STATEWIDE GENERAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON NOVEMBER 5, 2002 <br /> • <br /> The City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as follows: <br /> Section 1. Pursuant to the Charter of the City of San Leandro, Chapter 11, Title 1 <br /> of the Municipal Code, and Ordinance No. 99 -08, a General Municipal Election is hereby <br /> called to be held in the City of San Leandro on Tuesday, November 5, 2002 for the <br /> purpose of electing a Mayor and three City Council Members for the .full term of four <br /> years each. The Mayor shall be nominated from the city at -large and the City Council <br /> • <br /> Members shall be nominated from Council Districts 1, 3, and 5 respectively. <br /> • <br /> Section 2. Notice of the time and place of holding said election is hereby given <br /> and the City Clerk of the City of San Leandro is hereby directed to publish, post and give <br /> such further additional notice of said election as prescribed by the Elections Code of the <br /> State of California. <br /> Section 3. Pursuant to the provisions of the Elections Code of the State of <br /> California, the City Council of the City of San Leandro hereby requests that the General <br /> Municipal Election of the City of San Leandro to be held on November 5, 2002, be <br /> consolidated with the statewide election to be held in the City of San Leandro on said <br /> date, and further requests the Board of Supervisors of the County of Alameda to make its <br /> order of consolidation and thereafter call said consolidated election, and to direct the <br /> Alameda County Registrar to conduct all necessary services related to said election and <br /> to bill the City for the cost of conducting said election. The City Manager is hereby <br /> authorized to execute an agreement for such services if an agreement is required by the <br /> County. • <br /> Section 4. All persons qualified to vote at elections in said City of San Leandro <br /> upon the date of the election herein provided for shall be qualified to vote for the public <br /> officers at said General Municipal Election. <br /> Section 5. The polls will be open between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. <br /> on said day of election, and no ballots shall be received after the proclamation that the <br /> polls are closed (except as provided in Section 14401 of the Elections Code). <br />
