SCOPE OF WORK AND COST" QUOTE
SCOPE OF WORK
The concept of strategic information technology planning is defined as the
process of establishing strategic goals and objectives, and developing detailed
plans to ensure the strategies are implemented. The plan represents a strategic
approach to enable information technology to effectively assist the achievement
of the goals and objectives of the City of San Leandro.
The Information Technology Strategic Plan should focus on organizational policy,
high -level technical issues and directions. Management and employees can use
the plan as a guideline for individual short and long -term plans. This strategic
plan can serve as the principal working document for management to meet the
present and future needs of the City.
The need for comprehensive information technology strategic planning is more
evident today than ever before. Improved management information and
communications are vital to manage City operations effectively and efficiently.
Infommation technology has been subject to rapid change due to the
technological advances in the computer industry. An Information Technology
Strategic Plan is especially important in view of the expanding nature of
hardware and software platforms and processes. Because all public sector entity
resources are limited, a plan to optimize information technology expenditures is
vital for Tong -term success.
The intent of the Information Technology Strategic Plan is to provide the
framework for information technology decision- making and implementations.
This Plan should support and align with other strategic plans as follows
ollows:
7
San Leandro IT Strategic Plan Proposal Flux Consulting
Exhibit A -1, Page 9 of 17
