• EXHIBIT A SCOPE OF SERVICES FAIR HOUSING AND TENANT/LANDLORD COUNSELING AND RENTAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM The Subgrantee shall provide the following services for the period of July 1, 2002 through June 30, 2003: A. Fair Housing Type of Assistance: Complaint intake; complaint evaluation; investigation; counseling; mediation; referral. Estimated Number of Clients: 3 /month. 24 audits per year. Hours of Operation: Office 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., 1:15 p.m. - 5:00 p.rn., Monday through Friday. Telephone 510 -581 -9380 Response Goal: Evaluate and investigate within 24 hours. I . Initiate investigation of discrimination complaints within 24 hours from receipt of a complaint. All investigations will be performed by trained persons following established fair housing investigative checking methods. A discrimination check will include visits and/or telephone calls to suspected violators to obtain information and verify data. Information collected by the checkers will be reported in writing and the reports compared and analyzed for discrepancies. The Subgrantee shall refer clients wishing to pursue legal remedies to Department of Fair Employment and Housing (DFEH), Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), or private fair housing attorneys. 2. Inform the City of all calls related to housing discrimination within the City boundaries. The number and nature of complaints, and actions to be taken will be included in the quarterly report. 3. Provide the City with quarterly written reports on all current San Leandro housing discrimination cases referred for legal action.
