• <br /> EXHIBIT A <br /> SCOPE OF SERVICES <br /> FAIR HOUSING AND TENANT/LANDLORD <br /> COUNSELING AND RENTAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM <br /> The Subgrantee shall provide the following services for the period of July 1, 2002 through June <br /> 30, 2003: <br /> A. Fair Housing <br /> Type of Assistance: Complaint intake; complaint evaluation; investigation; counseling; <br /> mediation; referral. <br /> Estimated Number of Clients: 3 /month. <br /> 24 audits per year. <br /> Hours of Operation: Office 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., 1:15 p.m. - 5:00 p.rn., <br /> Monday through Friday. <br /> Telephone 510 -581 -9380 <br /> Response Goal: Evaluate and investigate within 24 hours. <br /> I . Initiate investigation of discrimination complaints within 24 hours from receipt of <br /> a complaint. All investigations will be performed by trained persons following <br /> established fair housing investigative checking methods. A discrimination check <br /> will include visits and/or telephone calls to suspected violators to obtain <br /> information and verify data. Information collected by the checkers will be <br /> reported in writing and the reports compared and analyzed for discrepancies. The <br /> Subgrantee shall refer clients wishing to pursue legal remedies to Department of <br /> Fair Employment and Housing (DFEH), Department of Housing and Urban <br /> Development (HUD), or private fair housing attorneys. <br /> 2. Inform the City of all calls related to housing discrimination within the City <br /> boundaries. The number and nature of complaints, and actions to be taken will be <br /> included in the quarterly report. <br /> 3. Provide the City with quarterly written reports on all current San Leandro housing <br /> discrimination cases referred for legal action. The reports shall include the <br /> following information for all complaints received since the last report or carried <br /> over from the last report: address of complaint, date and nature of complaint, <br /> Exhibit A page 1 of 5 <br /> July 15, 2002 — Word <br /> G:1Community Development \CDBG\ECHOWY2002 -03 <br />
