Rocha, Executive Director <br />Phone: 510 - 581 -9380 (ext. 17) <br />Project Name: Rental Assistance Program <br />PROJECT GOALS AND OBJECTIVES <br />The Rental Assistance Program reduces homelessness and increases accessibility to long -term housing for <br />tenants through short -term assistance for delinquent rent or move -in costs. With the provision of rental <br />assistance, households experiencing difficulty in paying rent are able to remain in housing, while households <br />experiencing difficulty in saving money for move -in costs are able to secure housing. <br />MAJOR ACTIVITIES and PERFORMANCE MEASURES <br />SUBRECIPIENT SHALL, FOR THE TERM OF THE CONTRACT: <br />1. Pre - screening households to determine needs and initial eligibility. <br />2. Referring households to other resources and identifying other pertinent resources. <br />3. Contacting landlord to advocate on behalf of tenant. <br />4. Interviewing face -to -face to gain greater understanding of the family /individual situation. <br />5. Providing budget counseling and support counseling (home seeking, credit counseling, etc.). <br />6. Verifying prior housing and current income. <br />7. Implementing guarantee contract. <br />8. Providing ongoing support for both tenant and landlord with housing - related problems and needs. <br />9.
