IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO RESOLUTION NO. 2012 -072 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH RED CLOUD, INC. FOR PURCHASE OF RADIOS AND EQUIPMENT TO COMPLY WITH THE EAST BAY REGIONAL COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEM AUTHORITY INTEROPERABILITY PROJECT WHEREAS, the City of San Leandro (City) is a member of the East Bay Regional Communications System Authority (EBRCSA), a joint powers authority organized and existing under the laws of the State of California pursuant to a Joint Exercise of Powers Agreement dated as of September 11, 2007; and WHEREAS, the EBRCSA is authorized to acquire, plan, design, finance, construct, operate, and maintain a P -25 compliant communications system serving Alameda and Contra Costa counties and individual political jurisdictions therein (Project), including the City; and WHEREAS, the Project Operating Agreement dated February 1, 2011 sets forth the terms and conditions for the EBRCSA's acquisition, construction, and operation of the Project for the benefit of its members and subscribers, including the City; and WHEREAS, the purchase of new portable and vehicle radios and equipment is necessary to bring the City into compliance with the EBRCSA Project Operating Agreement; and WHEREAS, Red Cloud, Inc. is the local distributor of the necessary radios and equipment and provides discounts on purchases based on a contract with Contra Costa County. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as follows: 1. That the City Manager is authorized to execute an agreement with Red Cloud, Inc., subject to the approval of the City Attomey; and 2. That an original executed agreement shall be attached to and made a part of this resolution.
