CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order <br />at 7:35 p.m. 1.A. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Mayor Emeritus Shelia Young led the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. 1.B. ROLL CALL Present 6 -Cassidy, Cutter, Gregory, Prola, Reed, Souza 2. <br />DISTRICT 4 APPOINTMENT PROCESS 2.A. INTERVIEWS 12-424 City Council Interviews of Applicants and Selection Process for City Councilmember, District 4 The order of names was drawn, and <br />the City Council interviewed the applicants in the following order: Chuck Kane Dana Chohlis Tom Dlugosh John Faria 2.B. PUBLIC COMMENTS CHRIS CROW, San Leandro resident, commented on <br />the important decisions the City of San Leandro Page 1 <br />City Council Minutes -Draft September 13, 2012 Council will make in the upcoming months, and urged the Council to take these issues into consideration in making their choice. DAVID ERLICH, <br />San Leandro resident, spoke in support of applicant Tom Dlugosh, and commented that he hoped the appointee will obey the Oath of Office. GERRY MELLEN, San Leandro resident, spoke in <br />support of applicant Chuck Kane. 2.C. CITY COUNCIL DISCUSSION 2.D. BALLOTING The results of the first ballot were Councilmember Cutter for Tom Dlugosh Councilmember Gregory for Tom Dlugosh <br />Councilmember Prola for John Faria Councilmember Reed for Chuck Kane Councilmember Souza for Chuck Kane Mayor Cassidy for Tom Dlugosh As no applicant received four votes, applicant Dana <br />Chohlis was removed from consideration, and the Council conducted a second round of ballots. The results of the second ballot were Councilmember Cutter for Tom Dlugosh Councilmember <br />Gregory for Tom Dlugosh Councilmember Prola for Tom Dlugosh Councilmember Reed for Chuck Kane Councilmember Souza for Chuck Kane Mayor Cassidy for Tom Dlugosh 2.E. APPOINTMENT 12-430 <br />MOTION: Motion Appointing City Councilmember, District 4 A motion was made by Councilmember Prola, seconded by Councilmember Cutter, to appoint Tom Dlugosh as City Councilmember, District <br />4. The motion carried by the following vote. Aye: 6 -Cassidy, Cutter, Gregory, Prola, Reed, Souza Enactment No: Min Order 2012-038 Newly appointed District 4 City Councilmember Tom Dlugosh <br />took his Oath of Office administered by the City Clerk. 3.
