IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 2012 -107 <br /> RESOLUTION SUPPORTING SAN LEANDRO UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT <br /> MEASURE L FOR THE NOVEMBER 2012 ELECTION <br /> WHEREAS, the San Leandro Unified School District has placed Measure L, a parcel tax <br /> to support public schools, on the November 2012 ballot; and <br /> WHEREAS, Measure L will help to minimize further budget cuts resulting from <br /> reductions in state funding for local schools; and <br /> WHEREAS, Measure L will protect and maintain core academic math, science, and <br /> reading programs; and <br /> WHEREAS, Measure L will maintain classroom computers and instructional technology, <br /> and protect and maintain small class sizes; and <br /> WHEREAS, Measure L will protect and maintain art and music programs, and physical <br /> education and athletic programs; and <br /> WHEREAS, Measure L goals include protecting student safety, keeping school libraries <br /> open, and attracting and maintaining high- quality teachers and staff including counselors; and <br /> WHEREAS, the goals achieved by Measure L will benefit San Leandro students, <br /> improve the quality of education in schools, and enhance safety for students and the community <br /> as a whole. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE to <br /> support the San Leandro Unified School District Measure L for the November 2012 election. <br /> Introduced by Councilmember Cutter and passed and adopted this 17th day of September, <br /> 2012, by the following called vote: <br /> Members of the Council: <br /> AYES: Councilmembers Cutter, Dlugosh, Gregory, Prola, Reed, Souza; Mayor Cassidy (7) <br /> NOES: None (0) <br /> ABSENT: None (0) <br /> ATTEST: /1 AAVAA 7' <br /> Marian Handa, City Clerk <br />
