Appendix C <br /> Page 4 <br /> 1256 Minimum Requirements <br /> The minimum qualifications statement in a class specification shall constitute the <br /> minimum employment standards for the class. Persons provisionally appointed shall meet the <br /> minimum qualifications for the class. An examination may be limited to 'applicants who <br /> possess qualifications above the minimum for the class, provided the higher qualifications are <br /> approved by the Civil Service Commission and published as the examination's minimum • <br /> qualifications on the official examination announcement. Any departure from the minimum <br /> qualifications established for a class shall be by order of the Commission only. <br /> 1260 General Qualifications <br /> General qualifications commonly required of all candidates for, appointees to, and <br /> employees in the classified service such as integrity, honesty, sobriety, dependability, industry, <br /> thoroughness, accuracy, good judgment, initiative, resourcefulness, courtesy, ability to work <br /> cooperatively with others, good health, and freedom from disabling defects, shall be deemed <br /> to be a part of the personal characteristics of the minimum qualifications of each class <br /> specification and need not be specifically set forth therein. The Commission may prescribe <br /> alternative or additional qualifications for individual classes and such qualifications also shall <br /> be deemed to be a part of the specifications for such classes. <br /> EXAMINATION ANNOUNCEMENTS. APPLICANTS. APPLICATIONS <br /> 1300 Notice of Examination <br /> At least twenty -five days' notice shall be given of each competitive examination by <br /> means of an official announcement posted on the official bulletin board in the office of the <br /> Commission. Announcements shall be given such other publicity as the director deems <br /> warranted to attract sufficient numbers of qualified candidates to compete in examinations and <br /> to assure that County employees and the public generally are informed of such exaniinations. <br /> 1304 Requests to be Notified • <br /> Requests to be notified when applications are to be accepted for a specific examination <br /> may, at the discretion of the Director, be filed in the Commission's offices on forms provided. <br /> When the examination is announced these notices will be mailed forthwith to those persons. <br /> 1:308 Contents of •Announcements <br /> Announcements shall specify the title and salary range of the class for which the <br /> examination is announced: the nature of the work to be performed; the qualification required; <br /> the time, place and manner of making application; the date of the examination; and other <br /> pertinent information. <br /> 1316 Specific Requirements <br /> Persons applying to take an examination must possess the requirements established <br /> for that. examination as specified on the official announcement.
