• • <br /> Appendix C <br /> Page 9 <br /> 1448 Anonymity of Candidates <br /> • To assure anonymity for each competitor in the written test, his papers shall be <br /> identified by a number until the scoring of the written test is completed. Only after the <br /> scoring of the written.test is completed shall the identity of the competitors be disclosed. <br /> 1452 Inspection of Tentative Ice <br /> During the period of from one to five working days, as determined by the director, <br /> immediately following the day of a written examination, any candidate in the examination may <br /> inspect a tentative keyed copy of the examination in the office of the Commission and may <br /> request a review of any items that he believes to be ambiguously worded, inappropriate for <br /> • inclusion in the examination, or incorrectly keyed. However, keyed copies of copyrighted or <br /> standardized tests, or of examinations being given continuously, or of essay or other questions <br /> requiring judgment to correct shall not be available for review. During this inspection period, <br /> a candidate may file a written request for review of the items or part of the examination he <br /> questions, giving his reasons and citing authorities to support them. The examination shall <br /> not be scored until all of the disputed items have been reviewed and appropriate adjustments, <br /> if any, made by correcting the scoring kev or eliminating items from the examination. Further <br /> requests for review of the written examination shall not be considered. Candidates will be <br /> advised at the time of the examination of the period of time available for inspection of the <br /> tentative kev. <br /> 1456 Ratings <br /> In order to qualify in an examination. candidates must attain a rating of at least 707c <br /> in the subject matter portion and a final rating of at least 70% in the total examination. The <br /> Commission may set. a minimum qualifying rating for each different subject matter test or for <br /> other parts of an examination and candidates failing to achieve such ratings shall be <br /> eliminated froni participating in the remaining tests or parts of such examination, or if they <br /> have already participated, they need not be rated. When in scoring the examination of a <br /> candidate, it. becomes evident that he would receive a rating less than the minimum required <br /> to qualify. such candidate shall be eliminated at that point and the scoring of the remaining <br /> parts of his examination need not be completed. Li converting raw scores to percentage <br /> ratings. scores below the passing score need not be converted. <br /> The Commission may limit the maximum number of qualified persons who shall <br /> constitute an eligible list, or who shall be permitted to compete in any of the separately <br /> ■eighted parts of an examination, and such persons shall be those individuals scoring the <br /> highest in the total examination or separately weighted part thereof, as the case may be. <br /> 1464 Notice of Results <br /> As soon as the eligible list is promulgated, each candidate in the examination shall be <br /> notified by mail of the result of his examination and, if he has qualified for a place on the <br /> -- 204 <br /> FIRE - :I.`1 <br />
