Emergency Medical Technician - <br /> Defibrillator L!MT -D.) <br /> Effective June 1, 1993, employees possessing an EMT -D <br /> certificate shall receive an additional two and one -half <br /> (2.5 %) percent of base pay monthly. Employees are <br /> • required to both obtain the certificate and undergo all <br /> necessary recertifications to be eligible for the EMT -D • <br /> pay (per Section 37). Also effective June 1, 1993, the <br /> one -time payment of Six Hundred Dollars ($600) upon <br /> certification and re- certification shall be eliminated. • • . <br /> Employees agree to accept any new technological advances • <br /> • <br /> • and duties based on adopted Alameda County protocols and <br /> State Regulations at the Emergency Medical Technician -D <br /> level. <br /> Section 10. Hazardous Materials Technician <br /> Each member cf the Hazardous Materials Response Team who <br /> is certified as a Hazardous Materials Technician shall <br /> receive a five percent (5 %) differential while so <br /> • assigned. <br /> section 11. Uniform Purchase and Maintenance <br /> An annual uniform allowance of Five Hundred Ninety -five <br /> Dollars ($595) per fiscal year is allowed for full -time <br /> employees who are required to purchase and maintain <br /> uniforms. Such compensation will be issued with the <br /> regular check, to be paid not later than July 20 of each <br /> year. <br /> • <br /> The following items are considered "safety clothing" <br /> (Gloves, Helmets with Face and Eye Shield, Turnout Coat <br /> with Liner, Turnout Pants with Line= and Boots with Steel <br /> Inner Sole and Safety Toes) and are purchased by the City. <br /> All other required items of wearing apparel will be termed <br /> "uniforms" and will be considered to come under the <br /> uniform allowance plan for purchase and maintenance. The - <br /> 'physical fitness uniform is to be specified by the Fire <br /> Chief and purchased from the uniform allowance. <br /> All items of safety clothing will be' issued by the Fire <br /> Department and will be considered a part of the City <br /> inventory. Items will be checked out to each employee who <br /> will be held responsible for the item. Damaged or lost <br /> items of safety clothing will be replaced by the employee <br /> unless such damage or loss is considered to be <br /> unavoidable.
