' <br /> Fire Engineer 3383 3552 3734 3923 4112 <br /> Fire Fighter 2851 2993 3143 •3301 3468 3642 3824 <br /> • Effective June 1, 1994, monthly pay shall be increased in an �.. <br /> amount equivalent to the percentage increase in the consumer <br /> Price Index for urban wage earners and clerical workers, San <br /> Francisco - Bay Area, all items (1982 -84 = 100), computed on the <br /> basis of the change in said Index from March 1992 to March 1993, <br /> as follows: <br /> 3/1993 Index - 3/1994 Index <br /> = Percentage Charge 6/1/94 <br /> Mach 1993 Index <br /> The percentage adjustment effective June 1, 1994, shall be <br /> computed at the nearest 1 /100th of a percentage, provided, <br /> however that the increase shall not exceed four percent (4 %). <br /> • The City shall contribute to the Public Employees' Retirement <br /> System (PERS) each pay period a portion of the employee <br /> contribution rate as established by law equal to nine percent <br /> (9 %) for sworn employees represented the Association of the <br /> employee's "compensation" as that term is administered by the <br /> Board of Administration of PERS as of the above date. <br /> Contributions made pursuant to this section shall be reported to <br /> PERS as "employee contributions being made by the contracting <br /> agency." The City will not treat these contributions as <br /> compensation subject to income tax withholding unless the <br /> Internal Revenue Service or Franchise Tax Board determines that <br /> such contributions are taxable income subject to withholding. <br /> Each employee is solely and personally responsible for any <br /> federal, state or local tax liability of the employee that may <br /> arise out of the i.aplementation of this section or any penalty <br /> that may be imposed therefore. <br /> • <br /> -39- . 2 6 3 <br /> • <br /> • <br />
