• • <br /> Except as set forth in the following paragraph the aforesaid <br /> contribution shall be considered solely for the purpose set forth <br /> herein and shall not be considered for any other purpose, <br /> including but not limited to being considered as part of any <br /> employee's salary for the purpose of computing straight time <br /> earnings, compensation for paid leaves, compensation for overtime <br /> worked, compensation benefits and the City's contribution to <br /> PERS. The City reserves the right to take said contributions <br /> into account for the purpose of salary comparisons with other <br /> employers. <br /> • Any employee represented by the Association who has attained the <br /> age of forty -five (45) or older, may elect to convert the said <br /> City -paid employee contribution to PERS to a salary increase of <br /> the same amount. Such election shall be irrevocable, must be in <br /> writing and received by the Personnel Director, and shall become <br /> effective on the first of the month following the date <br /> election.
